The Library has an extensive collection of DVDs, VHS, CDs and audiocassettes for educational use. These range from feature films to documentary programmes recorded from the television and support learning and teaching within the University.
Where can I find audiovisual resources ?
Audiovisual materials are generally held on the ground floor of the Library in the Audiovisual collection. They are borrowable for one week and can be renewed up to four times if not recalled by another user.
In demand AV items which appear on reading lists are kept behind the Lending Services counter and have the shelfmark RES_AV. These items can be booked in advance and are borrowable overnight until 11am the next morning (2pm at weekends). They cannot be renewed.
How do I search for them?
All AV items held in the Library are on the catalogue. You can use a basic search and limit the collection to audiovisual. To look for a specific format, choose the advanced search and then limit your format to CDRom/ DVD/audiocassette/sound reel/videocassette.
You can choose to search by keyword or title to find a specific work. Or search by author, usually a director, to find a director's body of work within the Library.

Individual TV/DVD/VHS combi machines are available in the Audiovisual collection on the ground floor. Headphones can be obtained from Lending Services. More TV/VHS machines are available on the first floor.
