Reduced costs for publishing in Open Access journals

The Library supports researchers to publish in open access journals at a reduced cost through a number of institutional memberships and initiatives:

BioMed Central

Biomed Central logoThe Library's Supporter Membership provides researchers with a 15% discount on the article processing charge with all BioMed Central journals. Submit your article using a Sussex email address and list the University of Sussex as the affiliated organisation.

 

Nucleic Acids Research

Nucleic Acids ResearchResearchers receive a discount of 50% on the article processing charge. Fill in the member version of the open access publication form which will be sent to you in your acceptance message.

 

Public Library of Science (PLOS)

PLOS logoOur PLOS membership entitles Sussex researchers who are corresponding authors a 10% discount on publication fees in all PLoS journals. Select University of Sussex when asked about institutional membership during the submission process.

Royal Society of Chemistry

Royal Society of ChemistryThe Library holds a number of vouchers which enable OA publication in any RSC journal. The corresponding author on the paper must be based at the University of Sussex.


Royal Society Publishing

Royal Society PublishingSussex affiliated researchers qualify for a 25% discount on article processing charges for open access publishing in any of the Royal Society journals. Confirm your institutional membership during the submission process and use your Sussex email address indicate your affiliation.

 

SAGE Open

SAGE openAs part of its support for the Library, SAGE has provided a number of free vouchers for article processing charges for SAGE Open. When submitting your article, please use your University of Sussex address.
