  • Strategic Plan
    A new Strategic Plan for the Library has been published. You can access it from the About Us page. (Feb 2010)
  • Refurbishment: Current Works Jan 2010
    • Entrance : We are using a temporary entrance for the next few weeks. After walking in the first set of doors (using the doors on the right only), turn immediately to the right and follow the corridor around. See what it looks like on YouTube.
    • Lending Desk and Enquiry Desk : right in front of the main entrance.
    • Core Collection : located at the north end of the building, turn right as you walk in the main entrance and follow the signs. Core Collection bookings are currently suspended.
    • AV Collection : currently located near the Short Loan Collection
    • The Silent room in the north corner of the building is no longer available for study. You can find other silent areas at the back of the building and directly above the Silent room (see floor plans [pdf])
    • The small ITS cluster near the main entrance has been removed
    • The space which used to contain the Lending Desk, Core Collection and AV near the front of the building is currently boarded up for the first part of the refurbishment. There will be some noise from this area, though we will try and keep this to a minimum. For quiet study we suggest the study areas towards the back of the building.

  • Refurbishment: Current Works December 2009
    • 30 November - the small ITS cluster near the main entrance are being removed on  to allow for the temporary lending and reception desk to be built.
    • 3rd December - Orignal Lending Desk closed and removed. Temporary Lending Desk opens.
    • 7th December - Core collection decanted to north east corner
    • Core Collection Bookings will be suspended from Monday 7 December
    • 9th December - AV collection relocated to near Short Loan Collection.

  • Computer Clusters unavailable Saturday 14 November
    Computers within the Library will be unavailable at various times on Saturday 14 November. There will always be clusters available for use throughout the day. Computers will be unavailable as follows:
    Top floor comptuers unavailable 9am-noon
    First floor computers unavailable noon-3pm
    Ground floor computers unavailable 1pm-5pm
  • Removing print journals during the Library refurbishment
    We will need to move the majority of our print journals to an off-site store during January 2010 to make room during the refurbishment. Find out more...
