The numeric style of referencing, referred to by some as the IEEE style, uses consecutive numbers that are placed in brackets for in-text citations while the reference list (arranged in the order which references appear in the body) is placed at the end of the text.
The numeric style is similar to vancouver and is used in engineering and science subjects.
Generally, when using the Numeric style, a reference in your paper requires only the name of the author or authors and the number of the detailed reference.

When the authors are not mentioned in the text, numbers are used to indicate the texts being referred to:
These works are then listed in full at the end of the essay.
