Projects

The Library is involved in a variety of projects, including those that are externally funded and working with national partners.

  • Observing the 1980s - JISC funded project November 2011 - January 2013. Observing the 1980s brings together, for the first time, 'voices' from both the Mass Observation Collections and the British Library Oral History Collections.  This material offers a unique and inspiring insight into the lives and opinions of British people from all social classes and regions during the 1980s.
  • SALDA - JISC funded project in 2011 to open up our Special Collections' Mass Observation catalogue as Open Linked Data
  • CReDAUL (sabre) - JISC supported in 2010 to develop a combined library catalogue with the University of Brighton using Open Source software
  • MOCO Project- JISC funded in 2010 to develop a community website which reflects life in the 21st century
  • UKRR- UK Research Reserve: a collaborative national collection of print journals
