Contemporary German literature, especially the work of W.G. Sebald. Intertextuality, photography and ideology. Literature that includes detailed narrative case histories, particularly the works of Oliver Sacks and A.R. Luria. Andrea has been instrumental in the organisation of 'Boundaries', an annual conference in the Graduate Centre for the Humanities (Sussex) and has presented a paper titled 'A Virtuoso of the Gaze: The Emergence of a New Historical Consciousness in the Works of W.G. Sebald'
