The aim of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme is to apply academic knowledge for the direct commercial benefit of business. KTP is a national scheme led by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a collaborative partnership between an organisation, a university academic, and a graduate.

The KTP scheme enables a company to become more innovative, effective and efficient. It aims to boost profits and commercial value, with the input of an academic expert. It covers all disciplines, technical and non-technical, spanning both science and technology through to the arts.

Funding

Funding is dependent on the size of your organisation. Each project application is priced individually through the full economic costing method of the university.

Small businesses attract 67% grant funding, Larger businesses and corporates attract 50% grant funding

Typically an organisation will be contributing between £19,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on the project timescale and academic input required.

If you have a potential project you would like to discuss, with no obligation, please contact our KTP Manager on Tel: 01273 877970 or Email: ktp@sussex.ac.uk
