Firewalls: Intermittent connectivity to the internet and other University services

Reason for downtime:
We have been experiencing some intermittent disruption to internet access and other University services such as Study Direct, Sussex Direct, Business Applications, Eduroam, etc.
An ongoing fault has been confirmed on the main university Firewalls, which needs to be urgently fixed. On the recommendation of our supplier we will be upgrading software to return to a stable platform. This action is part of a programme of work to introduce our new security gateways and stabilise services.
