As recently announced, the way you connect new devices to eduroam will become MUCH simpler on Tuesday 10 July.
If your device is already using eduroam, you won't notice any changes; your device will continue to connect normally.
Connecting a new device such as an iPhone, Macbook or Windows laptop will be a quick and easy process. If you’re on campus, you’ll be taken to the connection page and guided through the process. You can also set up a device off-campus so that it’ll connect to eduroam automatically when you arrive. Full details of how to do this will appear on the IT Services website next week.
Android users have a slightly different process to connect. You’ll need to visit the Google Play app on your phone or tablet and install the eduroamCAT app. Again, step-by-step instructions will appear on the IT Services website next week.
You’ll also be able to connect your games console or smart TV to the network, although this will be limited to wired connections only.
The upgrade of the eduroam connection process that was expected to take place tomorrow has been rescheduled. The upgrade will now take place on 10 July, 09:00 - 18:00.
This is to ensure that the upgrade doesn’t have an adverse impact on end-of-year academic processes at the University.
