Upcoming network maintenance

In response to other works being undertaken at the University, and as part of a project to upgrade and replace switches in Sussex House, there will be a number of short network outages across the campus in coming days.
York House & Jubilee Building, Thursday 20th July
In preparation for the works in the car park to the rear of the Jubilee Building, IT Services will be rerouting the network for Jubilee and York House. This work is scheduled between 08:30 and 09:30, but users should only notice a short interruption to service (approximately 30 seconds) as their connection is moved.
Sussex House upgrades, Monday 24th July
Users in Sussex House will experience a loss of network for approximately ten minutes, although their wi-fi coverage should be unaffected. Our engineers will be working through the network switches throughout the building, so as your local switch is upgraded, your wired network connection will become unavailable.

The upgrade of network switches in Sussex House is about to begin. Our staff will begin with the ground floor and then work through the upper floors once this is complete. As each area is upgraded, staff will experience a 10-minute interruption to their wired network connection.
