We're investigating a problem with webmail this morning, Tuesday 9 February. The webmail login link on Sussex webpages is working only intermittently at the moment but most staff and students can get around the problem temporarily by using these alternative logins:
alternative login for the staff email system
https://exchange.sussex.ac.uk
alternative login for the new student email system
https://outlook.office365.com (and login using your username@sussex.ac.uk)
We're working to fix the problem with webmail as soon as we can and will keep this page updated with progress.

Webmail logins are available again and all staff and students should be able to login as normal.
We're sorry the inconvenience caused by the login problems this morning. Services were disrupted from early this morning due to a software fault in a component of the campus email system. The fault was cleared and services have been running normally since 9.30am.

There have been some further problems with email logins this afternoon which we're investigating further.
A small number of students are currently unable to get access to their email but we're working to restore it as soon as possible.

Email is available as normal again after a further, brief interruption this evening.
We've replaced the component thought to be behind the problems and will continue to monitor services to ensure they are now working as they should.

We're sorry to say the problems with access to webmail have returned this evening and the webmail login link on Sussex webpages is not working at the moment. Most staff and students can get around the problem temporarily by using these alternative logins:

The webmail login page is available this morning but there were further problems overnight and we're sorry for the continued disruption to the service. We're working to fix the underlying cause as soon as we can and in the meantime, most staff and students can work around the problem temporarily by using these alternative login pages:

https://outlook.office365.com (and login using your username@sussex.ac.uk)
Mail programs such as Outlook and email on mobile phones, including the SussexMobile phone app, are not affected by these issues and have been working as normal. Staff have also been able to use Outlook as usual in the Windows Remote service.
We're continuing to investigate and will keep this page updated with progress.
Webmail logins have been stable since 9.15am this morning with staff and students able to get access as normal.
