Staff and researcher email delays

We're investigating problems with the staff email service today, Tuesday 14 July.
Many staff and research postgraduates are finding that sent emails are being delayed in the outbox in Outlook or are being temporarily saved in drafts. In some cases, emails are still being delivered but in others, outgoing messages are being delayed.
We're sorry for the inconvenience this is causing and are working to fix the problem as soon as possible.

Staff and research students have reported a number of problems with the email service on Tuesday 14 July:
- delays sending emails with messages often taking some time to be dispatched. In some cases, outbound messages have been held in the outbox or Drafts folder
- issues managing shared mailboxes and calendars with Outlook reporting "unknown errors"
- difficulty setting up accounts on devices
We're sorry for the inconvenience these issues have been causing today and we're working to identify the source of the problem and return the service to normal as soon as we can.
