These are the headline results from the survey we carried out in December 2014. As in recent years, we asked first-year undergraduates to give their first impressions of the IT at Sussex. Over 500 responded, offering their opinions on everything from PDF files to mobile technology.

Around 96% of those who replied are satisfied or very satisfied with the computers on the campus and the Service Desk in Shawcross is also rated very highly. First-year students would most like to improve the speed of internet access and the wi-fi coverage in some parts of the campus and there have also been a lot of calls to reduce the costs of printing.

The full results are now available along with details of actions that are already under way in response to the survey.

The students taking part were given the chance to enter a draw to win an iPad Mini. Kiera Walsh from Engineering and Informatics was the winner and collected her new iPad in January.
