In Windows, normally just click on File and then choose Print - but make sure you choose the right printer. See also:

Choose the printer which has the name of the building and the room you're in.
So for example, if you're in Pevensey 1B4, choose pevensey_1b4_bw for black & white or pevensey_1b4_col for colour.

You can print in colour in most cluster rooms and there are A3 printers in both Shawcross and Richmond.

You can help to save paper and of course keep the costs down by printing double-sided.
There are also other ways to reduce the costs of printing. For example, if the final document has to be double spaced you can print the draft copies as single spaced. There is also an option to reduce the size of the page (known as printing "2-up") so that two or more pages are printed on a single sheet of paper.
When you start at Sussex, your printing account is automatically set up with a starting balance and then every sheet you print is charged to your account.
| Type | Size | Single sided | Double sided |
|---|---|---|---|
| Black & white | A4 | 5p | 8p |
| Colour | A4 | 20p | 36p |
| Black & white | A3 | 30p | 54p |
| Colour | A3 | 40p | 72p |
Prices are by printer, so a black and white page sent to a colour printer is costed as a colour print. See also printer locations (login needed).
To use any of the printers you must have money in your printing account so you should keep an eye on your credit and remember to top it up regularly.

To check your credit, log in to a cluster room PC and move the mouse cursor over the printing icon in the task bar. You can also check your balance and account details online (login needed).
To top it up you can use the Printing Account Banking Stations (PABS) which accept cash (50p, £1 and £2 coins) and are located in IT Services in Shawcross and the Library. Payments can also be made using a credit or debit card via Sussex Direct (minimum charge £5).
Contact the IT Services Enquiries in Shawcross if you have any problem or queries associated with printing. Please note that IT Services does not give monetary refunds.
