717Can I auto-forward email to another account and keep a copy in my Sussex mailbox?
Please note that you cannot set up automatic forwarding to a non-Sussex address.
You must only set up auto-forwarding of your email to another account used only by you. Forwarding to another person's email address or to a shared account is not permitted because it could result in sensitive or private information being shared inappropriately. As the keeper of a Sussex email account, you must ensure that the University's data, including any details that might be sent by email, is adequately protected.
The procedure to forward your email is slightly different depending on the mail system you use:
- Forwarding for undergraduates and taught postgraduates
- Forwarding for staff and research postgraduates
