How do I extend the time limit on a quiz for students with Specific Learning Difficulties?

Study Direct quizzes are useful for formative assessment and feedback but should not be used for summative / contributory assessment.

If you set up a timed quiz you may need to give students with Specific Learning Difficulties, such as dyslexia, a time extension to complete the quiz.

To do this you will need to set up two supergroups. See FAQ 1430 for how to set up supergroups.

Create one supergroup  containing students who do not need a time extension and another  containing those who do need a time extension.

You will then need to create two quizzes with the same questions, but with different time limits. One quiz can then be allocated to each supergroup.

You can save time by copying your quiz and editing the settings for the second supergroup.

Please ensure that the Available for supergroup members only box is ticked in the quiz settings.

Students will only see the quiz with their time limit.
