Admission and Language Requirements

Admission requirements
  • You do NOT have to be currently enrolled in an educational institution to participate in the International Summer School.
  • Must be at least 17 years old at the start of the programme. If 17, a consent form must be submitted
  • Fulfilled all pre-requisites for desired module. Pre-requisite requirements can be checked here.
  • If you come from a country where English is an official language, you do not have to submit proof of language sufficiency. If you come from a country where English is NOT an official language, please read the language requirements below.
Language requirements for students from non-English speaking countries

All students who plan are participating in the International Summer School must be fluent in English. The modules are taught at a fast pace, and students cannot fall behind due to language barrier. To prevent this, we require students who come from a country where English is not an official language to submit evidence of suitable English Language qualifications. Proof of any of the following will suffice:

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component
  • Pearson's Test of English (Academic) with 62 overall with at least 56 in all four skills
  • Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English (CAE): grade B
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based (TOEFL IBT): 88 overall with 20 in listening, 19 in reading, 21 in speaking and 23 in writing

IF COURSES AT YOUR PREVIOUS INSITUTION HAVE BEEN TAUGHT IN ENGLISH FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS

  • A transcript and letter of recommendation from a tutor in lieu of a language certificate. The letter of recommendation should attest to both your language proficiency as well as your academic ability.

*We will accept any language qualification that is internationally recognised and at a level that is equivalent to the standards above.
