Trips and events

The International Student Support team organises trips throughout the academic year which offer students a great opportunity to see some of the UK's most famous and historical places and attractions at great student-friendly prices.

Details of our programme of trips in the Autumn Term 2017 will be available in late August. Tickets for these trips go on sale on the Online Shop  on the afternoon of Thursday 21 September 2017.

How to buy tickets:

  • Tickets for most trips and events can be purchased through our Online Shop.  When you are on the site, select ‘Product Catalogue’ > ‘Trips and Activities’ > ‘International Student Support’.  Trips won’t appear on the Online Shop webpages until the date and time they go on sale.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Please double check that you have the correct tickets in your basket before paying. Unfortunately, we do not give refunds for tickets which are mistakenly purchased or if at a later stage you cannot go.  For full terms and conditions of trip tickets please see 'Terms and conditions for all trips' below.

 

Terms and conditions for all trips and events

Terms and Conditions:

  • You must bring a printout of your ticket (or be able to show an electronic version) and your student ID card on the day of the trip. These documents must be presented before you will be allowed onto the coach.
  • Tickets are non-refundable.
  • If you can no longer attend the trip you may swap or sell your ticket to another student, but must email the International Student Support office at international.support@sussex.ac.uk with details of the swap including the names and registration number of both students.
  • Any student that buys a ticket from another student must bring a printout of the original booking or be able to show an electronic version with them on the trip (with the original booker’s name on the ticket).
  • Trips will take place no matter the weather, so please be prepared. We recommend that you bring a raincoat or an umbrella. As some trips involve a lot of walking, we would advise you to wear comfortable shoes or trainers.
  • If you are late arriving at a meeting point, we may have to leave without you. In this case you would have to find your own way back to Brighton at your own expense.
  • International Student Support reserves the right to make changes to the schedule and trips as offered in the event of circumstances beyond our control. If there are not enough tickets sold to make a trip viable, International Student Support reserves the right to cancel the trip. Under such circumstances a full refund will be given.
  • Our trip leaders may be taking photographs of students during the trips. These may then appear on the International Student Support Facebook page and possibly on advertising materials in the future. If you wish not to appear in photos, or for photos not to be used in the ways described above, then please inform the trip leaders.

Student Families

Student families (a student and their partner who is living with them, and/or their children) are welcome to attend our trips together.  However, the Online Shop only allows students to purchase a maximum of one ticket per trip.

Therefore, a limited number of tickets for the autumn term trips have been allocated for students who would like to bring their families. These will be available between Monday 18  - Wednesday 20 September (during opening hours), ahead of the online sales and will need to be purchased in cash in person from the International Student Support office in Bramber House.

Once tickets have gone on general sale, we will not be able to offer family tickets and students will be restricted to purchasing a maximum of one ticket per trip through the Online Shop.
