In a number of worldwide surveys of universities, our international students have consistently voted us one of the best 'Places to be' in England - a tribute to the quality of our student experience.
The International Student Barometer is one of the largest studies of international students in the world, surveying thousands through an online questionnaire. It has been used to evaluate student satisfaction by institutions in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Europe and the USA.

What our students say
We were delighted to achieve the best 'Place to be' rating of all English institutions in several surveys. Hundreds of our international students responded to the latest survey:
- 95% rate the University as a good 'Place to be'
- 94% praise our expert lecturers
- 95% feel safe and secure at Sussex, with 93% happy with our transport links
- 95% are satisfied with the services of our international office
- overall, almost 90% would recommend others to study at Sussex
The survey
The ISB is carried out by i-graduate, an independent market research organisation, which has surveyed hundreds of thousands of international students. Since 2006, the study has been adopted as the official measure of the international student experience by UK government and funding bodies.
