Rewarding Excellence – new University of Sussex Indian / Nigerian / Pakistani Country Scholarships for Masters students
Currently ranked 13th in the UK and 110th in the world*, the University of Sussex has recently significantly expanded its scholarship offer to attract highly qualified and motivated postgraduate students

As part of a wider initiative to invest in excellence, we are delighted to announce country scholarships worth £3,000 for all eligible new overseas fee paying postgraduate taught (Masters, not PG Dip) students from India / Nigeria / Pakistan (who meet our academic entry criteria and will be starting study with us in September 2013).
In order to receive this award students joining Sussex in September 2013 (i.e. holding an offer of a place at Sussex) need to complete the country scholarship declaration form.
This scheme is not available to students studying on courses taught exclusively by the Institute of Development Studies (IDS, see below for detail) or the MSc Automotive Engineering, a course delivered in partnership with the University of Brighton which leads on administration.

You must hold and must have accepted an offer of a place on a masters course at the University of Sussex , refer to your offer letter for instruction on acceptance.
This award cannot be combined with another scholarship funded by the University of Sussex. If you have been offered any other Sussex scholarship and wish to accept this award, you will need to decline the other scholarship or vice versa.
The University of Sussex country scholarships will be reflected on your Certificate of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) shortly after completing the declaration form but there will be a brief delay (to allow for processing at peak times) so please complete the declaration as soon as possible.
The scholarships will be awarded automatically as a tuition fee reduction to eligible students upon enrolment at the University of Sussex.
The scholarships relate to all full-time taught Masters degree courses at the University of Sussex (e.g. MA, MSc, LLM. MRes) excluding the following courses:
- Postgraduate diplomas
- Graduate Entry LLB
- Common Professional Examination (CPE)/Graduate Diploma in Law
- Graduate Diploma in Economics
- Masters degrees in Social Work
- Social Work post qualifying Masters degrees
- PGCE courses and schools direct teaching courses
- MSc Automotive Engineering
- Master of Education (two years part-time)
- MA degrees in IDS apart from the MA Gender and Development and the MA in Climate Change and Development
- Pre-Masters degrees and diplomas taught at partner colleges which are validated by Sussex
In addition, masters students who are funded by the research councils (e.g. those receiving ESRC funding for a 1+3 integrated masters and PhD and AHRC funded masters courses) are not eligible for these country scholarships.
The country scholarship declaration form is available and must be completed before 01/08/2013.
