Support
The International and Study Abroad Office (ISAO) is here to help you make the most of your time at Sussex and deal with any problems you may encounter.
Arrival and welcome
During the main arrival weekend in September our teams of student helpers will be at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports to welcome you to the UK, answer your questions and direct you to coaches and trains. You will then join the welcome programme – a week-long series of events, with information sessions on academic matters, finance, health and immigration, local tours and a big welcome party to meet other international students.
Help and advice
The International and Study Abroad Office can provide advice on immigration, finance and living in the UK, or just offer a friendly face if you feel like you need someone to talk to. We have dedicated international advisors for students from China, Japan and South Asia.

Social events
We want you to enjoy every minute of your time at Sussex, and the ISAO run social events throughout the year so you can learn about different cultures and experience the British way of life. Whether it's a coach trip to Stonehenge or a cultural celebration on campus, our social events are a chance to relax, have fun and meet new friends from around the world.
