If you are a returning student to Sussex, we will have a number of rooms available in September 2024. We will also have a number of rooms for new Home postgraduate taught students (MSc and MA).
Important
International students:
- New international PG students should Apply for 2024/25 accommodation as normal and should not be joining the waiting list.
Home Postgraduate Taught students:
- please email housing@sussex.ac.uk to activate your accommodation portal account.
Returning students
- Returning students can join the waiting list straight away and don’t have to email housing.
Some students are guaranteed accommodation as part of their offer. If you’re not sure, check if you are already guaranteed acommodation.
Useful tip: If you have already secured private sector accommodation for the 2024/25 academic year, check with your agent or landlord whether you can terminate the tenancy agreement without liability.
Please do not join the waiting list unless you have successfully terminated your agreement.

Important: If you ended a previous contract for University-managed accommodation with unpaid rent, or were found to have breached your previous accommodation terms and conditions, you will not be offered accommodation.
Getting taken off the list
If you no longer need accommodation, and want to be removed from the waiting list, email housing@sussex.ac.uk.
Getting updates
We will contact everyone on the waiting list with an update on their status and aim to provide further information at the end of May or beginning of June 2024.
We will start processing applications and make offers of accommodation from July 2024.
