Newton Bhabha PhD Placements Programme - apply by 21st August

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) India are now accepting applications for funding to support short-term placements for doctoral researchers between the UK and Indian institutions.

The Newton Bhabha PhD Placements Programme offers the opportunity for UK doctoral researchers to apply to spend a period of 2-4 months in an Indian higher education institution, during the period March to December 2018.

As part of the scheme, visa fees, economy class airfares, overseas medical insurance would be paid for and successful applicants would also benefit from in-country costs including accommodation and a stipend.

The programme is designed to enable you to:

  • Learn new research skills or techniques
  • Build relationships with potential collaborators
  • Advance collaborative research
