Doctoral researchers invited to take part in new engagement project

The Doctoral School are pleased to be working with The Student Engagement Partnership (a specialist unit of the National Union of Students) and the Students' Union at Sussex on an exciting new researcher engagement project.

student engagement partnership logoThe partnership focuses on championing and developing student engagement practice in the higher education sector.

The project is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), and is the first of its kind focussing on doctoral researcher engagement. Traditionally student engagement has focused on undergraduate and taught students.

The first stage of the project is a workshop that Student Engagement Partnership consultants will deliver for interested doctoral researchers, to gain an understanding of how you would like to engage with the research community and wider institution - to shape and enhance your environment, and so your voices can be heard within institutional decision-making.

Following the workshop, TSEP consultants will produce an analysis and recommendations that can be used to inform the development of new practice.

The Doctoral School would be pleased to have doctoral researchers from across the University involved, and would like to invite you to join them on Thursday (22 October), 10am-2pm - including a nice free lunch.
