Formal launch of Teaching and Learning Experience at Sussex series (TaLES); New Head Chef brings in new Dine Central menu

Formal launch of Teaching and Learning Experience at Sussex series (TaLES)

This week sees the formal launch of the Teaching and Learning Experience at Sussex series (TaLES).

Organised by Dr Liz Sage, the University’s new Teaching Fellow in Teaching, Learning and Assessment in Higher Education, the TaLES series is designed to give new and experienced teachers at Sussex the chance to talk to and learn from each others' experience of teaching at university.

Each session sees an Associate Tutor, Teaching Fellow or Lecturer at Sussex briefly share their teaching experience on a particular theme, from managing classroom dynamics, good marking and feedback techniques through to inventive and inspiring teaching methods. The sessions are a mix of drop-in and sign-up, and are open to everyone teaching – or hoping to teach – at Sussex. More information.

New Head Chef brings in new Dine Central menu

Long-serving SussexFood chef Mark “Kips” Kipling has been made Head Chef and Kips’ first major impact has been to re-design the Dine Central food offer, with a complete menu overhaul available from the first day of Spring Term.

The new menu has been created to reflect Sussex’s recent ranking among the world’s most international universities. There is therefore great emphasis on international diversity and freedom of choice. Furthermore, there are richer pickings for people with dietary requirements and those looking for more ‘out there’ meals. For a full menu, please access the SussexFood website.
