Sussex rises up student experience league table

The University of Sussex has climbed 18 places in the most recent Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey, rising from 56th to 38th place between 2012 and 2013.

They were each asked 21 questions about staff, courses, facilities and student unions and much else, together with an additional question as to whether they would recommend their institution to a friend.

Professor Clare Mackie, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Teaching and Learning), commenting on the survey results, said: “It is obviously good news to see Sussex turn in a much stronger performance than last year and to be very firmly in the top half of the table.

“But plainly we want to do better still and we should also recognise that this survey is highly volatile, so there is no scope for complacency about the most recent performance.”

Sussex's highest score was for its library service and Professor Mackie commented: “Investment in the Library as a core teaching and learning resource continues to be a priority for the University and it is good to see that students seem to appreciate the outcome of that and the hard work of Kitty Inglis, the University's Librarian, and the rest of her team.”
