Refurbished Bridge and Dhaba cafes to reopen in new year

The Bridge and Dhaba cafés, which closed on 6 December for a refit, will reopen in the new year with new signage and new menus in place.

Bridge cafeThe £154,000 refurbishment and refreshment of the visual identity is being carried out by Sussex Food following consultation with the School of Global Studies (for the Dhaba) and the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (for the Bridge).

The new menus, available from the reopening on 6 January, will bring “vibrant authentic vegetarian street food” - inspired by classic Indian, Vietnamese, Mexican and Middle Eastern street food - to the Dhaba in Arts C.

The “great British food” on offer at the Bridge in North-South Road will include roast-beef Yorkshire-pudding wraps, bacon butties and roast gammon, say Sussex Food.

The work on the Dhaba and the Bridge concludes a programme of refurbishment of all of the cafés operated by Sussex Food since they took responsibility for campus catering in September.Dhaba cafe
