Sussex philosopher is up and coming

A University of Sussex philosopher has won a prestigious international prize.

Corrine BessonCorrine BessonThe Lauener Foundation for Analytical Philosophy has awarded Dr Corine Besson, Lecturer in Philosophy, the Lauener Prize for Up-and-Coming Philosophers.

The award is made “to highlight exemplary contemporary philosophical oeuvres and ... encourage and support young talent to consistently break new ground in analytical philosophy”.

Dr Besson taught at the University of Oxford (where she had carried out her postgraduate studies) and at Birkbeck, University of London, before joining Sussex in 2013.

Her research focuses on the philosophy of language and the philosophy of logic.

Dr Besson will receive her prize on 27 June during the 6th International Lauener Symposium on Analytical Philosophy in Bern, Switzerland.
