University to appoint a Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Planning & Resources)

The University of Sussex has created a senior leadership role that will have strategic oversight for the resources, planning innovation and sustainability agenda, to help ensure achievement of the University’s strategic plan, Making the Future 2013-18.

The role, which is currently being advertised internally, is open to internal applicants from members of the Professoriate.

The role-holder will work closely with senior academic colleagues and professional services leads to ensure that an integrated approach is taken to the delivery of the strategic plan.

Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, the new Pro-Vice-Chancellor will be a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive Group.

In addition to the planning and resources portfolio, the role-holder may also provide strategic direction for another significant portfolio area as well as line management responsibility for a number of heads of school.

The successful candidate will be expected to take up their post on 1 October. The appointment as Pro-Vice-Chancellor will be for an initial term of five years, renewable to a maximum of ten years.
