Professor Brian Hudson, a winner in the category for Outstanding Support for the Learning Experience of Students, tweeted: "News of my award lit up my day - I feel absolutely honoured!"
Juliette Cule, Education Officer in the Students’ Union, said: “The relationship between students and staff is a fundamental part of students’ time at university so I’m pleased to see them lead the way in celebrating the support they receive.
“This is a really exciting opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of our staff and I look forward to seeing the awards grow in future.”
Professor Clare Mackie, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching & Learning), said: “I would like to congratulate all the winners on their awards, which are very well deserved.
“I would also like to congratulate Juliette and the USSU team for establishing these student-led Teaching Awards to recognise our dedicated and committed staff.”
The University will follow up with University awards at cluster level - with the proviso that only staff receiving student-led awards can progress to a University-level award, with the exception of Professional Services staff who support teaching within the schools.
These University awards will be announced annually in the autumn tem, following the summer student-led Teaching Awards.
