Due to delays in the delivery of new equipment, a number of dates and times, including some closures, are different from the schedule published on 16 August.

The new schedule is:

  • Wednesday 11 September – Removal of current equipment and repair and installation of new floor and carpet tiles
Closed: Falmer Sports Centre (FSC) fitness rooms and Sport Centre fitness room
  • Thursday 12-Friday 13 September – Installation of new cardiovascular (CV) equipment and dumbbells at both sites
Closed: FSC (CV rooms to re-open, with limited access to some resistance machines (FSC only), at some point between 13-15 September) and Sport Centre fitness room
  • Monday 16-Wednesday 18 September – Installation of free-weight and resistance equipment at the FSC and Sport Centre fitness room
Closed: FSC and Sport Centre fitness rooms planned phased opening from 17 September

Simon Tunley, Deputy Head of Sport, said: “We would like to apologise to all our members for the change in the time line. However, be assured that we will do our upmost to ensure the facilities are up and running as soon as possible.

“On a positive note we sincerely believe you will see a massive improvement in the fitness offer and will come to enjoy the many options open to you in regards to the equipment available to use and the fitness training our staff can provide in tandem with it.”
