Students’ Union awarded ‘Investors in People’
The Students' Union has been awarded the Investors in People standard, a nationally recognised people management standard.
The Students' Union used the Investors in People process to help review the experience it offers and take action to improve how it manages and works with its staff and volunteers.
These are some of the comments staff made to the Investors in People assessor:
“I love working for the Union”
“The Union is always there for you if you need it”
”It’s the best job I have ever had”
“The staff rep system is really good; feedback is good and they do listen”
“They are really good at involving you and asking you what you want”
“They [the Union] want you to have a real part in moving the business forward”
This recognition follows the Students' Union's achievement in July 2011 of the Investing in Volunteers standard, which focuses specifically on volunteers.
Becca Melhuish, Students' Union Operations Officer, said: "Our staff and volunteers are so important to us and we're pleased to see this commitment recognised."
