Kids raise hundreds for Children in Need

Children dressed in their pyjamas, baked and sold cakes and held their tongues for a sponsored silence to raise hundreds of pounds for Children in Need.

The Preschool children (aged 3-5) raised £344. They helped to bake and decorate a big cup cake to sell alongside other cakes baked by staff and parents. The Preschool also held a five-minute sponsored silence, which all the children managed (much to the amazement of their parents!).

Meanwhile, groups of toddlers (aged 3 and under) from the Nursery walked round the campus in their pyjamas selling cakes, finding customers in Sussex House (including the Vice-Chancellor), the finance office, Sports Centre, Housing Office and Library Square. They raised £301.

Penny Peters, Childcare Manager, said: “Thank you to everybody who contributed to the day either by providing cakes or by buying them and by joining in with the other fund raising activities. The children and staff had a great day and raised an incredible amount of money.”
