Interested in running the Brighton Marathon?

The University has a number of charity places available in the Brighton Marathon for excellent causes including the Sussex Fund (supporting Sussex students) and the Bhopal Medical Appeal. If you’re interested, come to an open meeting on Monday (7 November) at 1pm in Fulton 103. Sussexsport will offer a package of training and support for all runners from the University. Celebrate Christmas with US

Catering Services will be holding two party nights in Bramber House on 9 and 16 December, with pre-dinner drinks, a four-course dinner and dancing until 1am. In addition, a three-course traditional Christmas lunch will be available for £13.50 in Dine Central every day from 5 to 16 December, from 12noon-3pm. 

Don’t park in Stanmer Park

Brighton & Hove City Council are urging Sussex students and staff not to park in Stanmer Park when they drive to campus. “There are limited parking spaces in Stanmer Park and the car parks there are for park users only,” says the council’s Countryside Manager, Hugo Blomfield. 

BSMS apps up 15%

Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) has seen a 15% rise in applications for its undergraduate degree. By the time applications via UCAS (the Universities & Colleges Admissions Service) to study medicine had closed on 15 October, BSMS had received 2,500 applications for 2012 entry. This compares with the 2,170 applications for 2011.  Applicants will be competing for at least 138 places to start the course in September 2012.
