Over 100 staff and students walked or ran around the outside of campus as part of the popular annual boundary run and walk on 6 May.

38 people competed in the three-mile race - twice as many as in 2008 - while over 70 members of staff and students took a more relaxed approach as they were led on a guided tour by plant and wildlife expert Dr Martyn Stenning and Sussexsport's Sofia Sextou.

For the second year running, neuroscience student Ben Warren completed the circuit in the quickest time - 19 minutes and 26 seconds - finishing joint first with Josh Guilmant, Clerical Assistant in the Sussex Institute.

Dr Fiona Powell of BSMS was again the fastest woman around the course, finishing in 19 minutes and 31 seconds, knocking one minute and 27 seconds off her winning time from last year.

IT Services was the unit with the most participants, with 26 members of staff taking part.
