Dr Phyllis Creme (Teaching & Learning Development Unit) and Dr Celia Hunt (Centre for Continuing Education) are looking for student volunteers to help them explore the potential of creative writing for enhancing creativity in academic writing.
Participants will be asked to attend a writing workshop one evening a week for six weeks during the spring term 2001. The workshops will use creative writing to explore the writer's relationship with academic language, the essay as an academic form and the institutional context of academic writing. Participants will also be asked to complete questionnaires and to engage in an interview both at the start and at the conclusion of the project.
