Environmental Review at Sussex

The University is one of only six institutions in England which is involved in a pilot study of environmental auditing, funded by the HEFCE. With the full backing of the Vice-Chancellor and the senior management of the University, an environmental review will take place during the second week of term. It will focus on Estates, the School of Engineering and the School of Biological Sciences (waste only). Two consultants will be on campus for the period of a week talking to members of staff and students and conducting inspections. Following the visit, the consultants will produce a confidential report for the University, highlighting good practices as well as opportunities for improvement. At the end of the study, general guidance notes and a tool kit will be produced for the whole sector. If anyone has questions on any aspects of the review, please contact Penelope Chapple, Environmental Adviser, x8904, P.J.Chapple@sussex.ac.uk.
