The student station won the Gold Award in the Best Interview category for Kit Bradshaw’s interview with Sussex tutor Luke Cooper in the wake of last year's violent student protests at Millbank tower.

URF's award was presented by Radio 1 newsreader Tulip Mazumdar (see picture), who said that the winning entry "demonstrated good subject knowledge and structure to the interview, which has a defined course and follows a logical path of questioning, with the interviewer letting the interviewee talk without interrupting".

She added: "Overall, the interview is really impressive and delivers a 'to the point' interview with a real Jeremy Vine sound."

As well as a trophy and certificate, Kit won an interview masterclass with industry professionals.
