Role

Senior Research Fellow and RCUK Academic Fellow

In my research I combine dynamical systems theory, statistics and hybrid systems experiments in a comprehensive approach to understand information processing in nervous systems.

Current interests include (but are not restricted to):

  • Information processing in olfactory systems and applications to electronic noses (Nowotny et al. Biol Cybern 93(6): 436-446 (2005))
  • Sequence learning in neuronal systems (Nowotny et al. Phys Rev E 68: 011908 (2003)) and applications to navigation
  • Accurate conductance based neurons models and hybrid systems, including dynamic clamp development (Nowotny et al. J Neurosci Meth 158(2): 287-299 (2006))
