Role

I am a lecturer in Multimedia Systems in the School of Informatics. This involves all aspects of course design, organisation, delivery and assessment in the area of Multimedia Systems. Additionally I am programme Convenor for MSc Multimedia Applications and Virtual Environments (postgraduate) and BSc Multimedia and Digital Systems (undergraduate) and BSc Games and Multimedia Environments (undergraduate).

Multimedia systems, in particular virtual prototyping of ubiquitous systems, pervasive systems and electronic devices. I also have a keen interest in the application of Technology Enhanced Learning which I combine with my teaching portfolio. Previously, I have been involved in the areas of Image processing, image compression, lossy compression of multivariate scientific data sets; analysis, and the manipulation and compression of deep multispectral electron microscope images.

My main field of teaching is Multimedia Systems and I teach 3 main courses within Informatics.  These are: Introduction to Multimedia (Year 1), Programming for 3D (year 2 and Masters), and Multimedia Design and Applications (year 3 and Masters). These cover all aspects of digital content creation from audio and still images through to web design, animation, video and computer graphics.
