This paper discusses computer-based tutoring of medical images. It presents the advantages of computer tutoring as a means of providing systematic accessible tuition in medical image interpretation and the problems of replacing or supplementing a human tutor. It describes a prototype system for tutoring about chest x-rays and discusses a project which is underway to extend the system to MR neuro images.
