Intelligent tutoring systems try to cover aspects of domain and pedagogic competence of an ideal human tutor. A complete intelligent tutoring system can be described by the following components: expert model, student model, tutorial model and communication model. The paper gives an account of FA-TUTOR, an intelligent tutoring system assisting students in the solution to problems in financial accounting.
