Risk Assessment
Who should attend?
Any manager or supervisor with responsibility for other staff, or any member of staff who needs to assess hazards and risks associated with a particular task.
Why attend?
To equip yourself with the skills to identify hazards and put measures in place to manage the risks.
What will the course cover?
This is a two part course and it is necessary to attend both sessions.
Session A
This session covers the legal requirements for an organisation to carry out risk assessments, identifying hazards and risks.
In between Session A and Session B you will be asked to carry out a risk assessment to identify hazards and risks, based on what you have learnt in Session A. This risk assessment will then be completed in a practical exercise in Session B.
Session B
This practical session covers severity and likelihood ratings, suitable control measures, recording and reviewing.
Manual Handling Assessor
Who should attend?
Any manager or supervisor with responsibility for other staff, or any member of staff who needs to assess hazards and risks associated with a manual handling task.
Why attend?
To equip yourself with the skills to identify hazards associated with lifting, carrying and lowering loads and put measures in place to manage the risks.
What will the course cover?
This in depth course will equip participants with the skills to assess manual handling operations using the HSE Manual Handling Assessment Chart tool, raising awareness of manual handling hazards, risks and controls, whilst installing basic knowledge of anatomy, mechanics of movement and causes of manual handling injuries, and guiding participants on how to carry out a suitable and sufficient manual handling risk assessment.
Health and Safety Coordinator Update Sessions
Who should attend?
Health and Safety Coordinators, Safety Representatives, Managers and Supervisors
Why attend?
To keep up to date with new legislation, guidance and best practice.
What will the course cover?
This is an informal session with presentation and practical exercises run by members of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team, focusing on recent changes in the HSE fields.
IOSH Managing Safely
This is an Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) accredited course.
Who should attend?
Managers and Supervisors.
Why attend?
Any Manager and Supervisor with responsibility for other staff.
