Would you like to attend the Times Higher Education awards in London?

The University has been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education magazine’s annual DataPoints Merit Award and staff are invited to join in the celebrations and nominate themselves and their teams to attend the ceremony in London on 22 June.

The DataPoints Merit Award is compiled by analysing data collected from universities across the UK by Times Higher Education as part of their World University Rankings.

These 400,000 data points revealed a group of institutions whose international recognition showed a high degree of consistency across a wide range of territories. The University of Sussex is one of the UK's five highest ranked universities on this measure.

The awards ceremony takes place from 6.45 pm to late on Thursday 22 June 2017, at London's Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane.

Vice-Chancellor, Adam Tickell, and Chair of the University’s Council, Chris Brodie, will be hosting the table and want to give staff the chance to attend the awards, meet new colleagues and represent the University. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the University.

If you’d like to nominate yourself and two of your colleagues, or if you would like to nominate three colleagues, please email Internal Comms and explain in 100 words or fewer why your team should be there on 22 June. Please write ‘DataPoints Merit Award’ in the subject line of the email and respond before 5.00pm on Wednesday 7 June.
