“Science and technology policy touches on everything we have around us in the world today, from fundamental science to innovative technology and everything between, plus how such processes and events have direct implications on our life and indirectly via public policy.”

As a fully-fledged Policy Consultant, Mike is helping to shape the direction of EU policy related to connected and automated transport, while also working on researching new policy areas for his company, such as those involving innovative technologies such as blockchain or additive manufacturing.

As well as his parents, Mike says the support of his tutors helped him reach his goals.

“Both Jo Chataway and Erik Millstone, who co-delivered the core module of my course in the first term, were always very supportive and made time for anything I felt needed discussing.

“Even if I was worried over something actually quite minor, they always had wise words to share that helped me keep perspective and encouraged me to keep trying.”
