About

The Gothenburg programme at Sussex

Since 1975 the University of Gothenburg has been offering students the opportunity to study English at the University of Sussex at Brighton. Every term you can do a full-time undergraduate course in English language and literature on the Introductory, Intermediate or In-depth level according to the Swedish model.

Each level corresponds to one semester's full time study and is awarded 30 higher education credits. Each 30-credit course is transferable between any university or university college in Sweden. Normal rules for Swedish student loans apply. There are no course or tuition fees.

Course dates

Autumn courses start on the first Monday in September and finish in mid-December. Spring courses start on the first Monday on or after 19 January and finish in early June.

Our students

Some students on the Gothenburg programme at Sussex are majoring in English and other modern languages, but many have opted to do English as a separate course or as part of a degree programme in, for example, the Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, or Economics.
