Biography

Having left school and worked for a number of years, I returned to my studies as a mature student. I first studied for two years with the Open University, before joining Sussex as an undergraduate and then again as a MA student. I then spent seven years teaching Access courses at a local FE college, before joining Sussex as a Teaching Fellow on the Social Sciences Foundation Year.

In my spare time (!), I am raising three children, a dog, a cat and two fish and (sometimes)  spend time with my partner.

Role

I am Module Convenor for the Introduction to Global Studies Module on the Social Science Foundation Year, and an Academic Advisor. I am also a Doctoral Researcher with the School of Education and Social Work.

In 2016/17 I was awarded a Student-Led Teaching Award for Outstanding Support for the Learning Experience of Students.
