People at a lecture

We are delighted to announce that the University of Sussex is presenting a Geography Teachers’ Conference on Wednesday 2nd July 2014.

The programme includes CPD sessions to reinvigorate teaching, and lectures on cutting-edge research. It will be of benefit to teachers at all stages of their careers.

Two CPD sessions to develop your classroom teaching:

  • Professor Cornwall (Head of the School of Global Studies) will introduce a new, free online resource to support the teaching of gender and development at KS 3-5.

Two research lectures from leading university Geographers:

  • Dr Mike Collyer, Reader in Geography at the University of Sussex and a fellow of the Centre for Migration Research, will deliver a lecture about his RGS funded project focusing on the impact of migration in six cities in the Global South.
  • Professor of Climate Change, Dr Martin Todd, will share some of the latest cutting-edge research in climate change science.
