Coastal and Estuarine Research At Sussex (CERAS)

CERAS is an active and expanding interdisciplinary centre of researchers within both Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Sussex.

Our expertise covers coastal and estuarine processes, biodiversity and coastal management. In recent years we have received funding from DEFRA, the Environment Agency and the European Union's MAST III and Interreg II and III programmes, to carry out research on geomorphology and ecology of hard and soft rock coasts, cohesive foreshores, beach sustainability and estuarine sediment trapping.
