Gender
A Gender Equality Duty was introduced in April 2007. This requires public authorities, including higher education institutions to promote gender equality and eliminate sex discrimination. The duty shifts the emphasis from retrospective individual action to tackle discrimination towards an anticipatory and proactive problem-solving approach.
